     Human Resonance - The Experience

It took me a while to do the necessary research in order to develop this project. More than two years of reading, learning, challenging myself to process all the information I came across, motivated by the belief that the natural human potential can be invoked in right circumstances.  As a counter of trauma, inspiration leads to motivation and it has a beneficial and most profound effect on a human being.

I have created eleven drawings, each an abstract portrait of eleven participants on the project. The portraits are based on respective person’s natural resonance and are made of ink and acrylic on paper.  If you are interested in what a “Resonance” can be, here is a             to a scientific study on the matter. It helped me a great deal in understanding this concept.

What also helped me was realizing that even if we don’t understand the laws of nature, it doesn’t mean that we are not impacted by them. This made me curious and motivated me to expand my knowledge of science, in particular of physics  because it researches energy, vibrations, waves, frequency and resonance. This quest has brought me to an understanding of these terms and this is what I have found:

“Every person has a certain ‘constitution’…which is unique in combination but not exclusive in components. Constitution is made/defined from attitude, beliefs, value system, various dispositions etc. Striking a natural frequency is seeking closest alignment between the Constitution and the Ambience in which a human operates. The greater is alignment; closer are we to the natural frequency of that person. “ – Y. Samant

Deeper knowledge of psychology helped raise awareness of my own thoughts. It helped me to learn how to listen and observe without the inner narrative. This process rewarded my search by bringing  me in touch with my own authenticity, allowing me the mental freedom of expressing it, exploring it, and ultimately living it.

I am often asked about how much time it takes to create a drawing. It basically depends on a person’s ability to surrender to the idea of opening up to this intimate and profoundly personal experience. It takes curiosity and courage in allowing yourself to get beyond yourself and experience authenticity without any judgment. It depends on my ability to transfere on to a white sheet of paper when it is needed , collecting information without interference of my subjective experience of the moment.

I believe in human potential and human progress. It can be leveraged  if we approach it with empathy and utmost care. It can flourish  in right circumstances and developed in a way we can’t possibly imagine.
